Xenophobia Meets Stewardship in Waukesha

Judging from some of the comments posted about an article on the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel website, some in the suburbs west of Milwaukee are afraid of being beholden to a diverted Lake Michigan water supply from the Big City.  This is a rare case where dubious motives meet environmental responsibility in a happy partnership.  A couple of the comments:

"... our current mayor wants to tie Waukesha in to his utopia of regional planning with Milwaukee."

"There is something strange going on here as to why the water utility and our lefty mayor are so invested in Waukesha getting Mke water when a very large majority of the citizens do not want it...This is like healthcare reform only on a smaller scale."

"Waukesha has sufficient water to last for a century or more. I do not want that overflowed sewage from Milwaukee water coming to Waukesha. So I'm saying NO to lake Michigan water."
